Viewing the Windows Firewall Log

All Windows Firewall log fields are separated by spaces instead of fixed fields, making it difficult to easily correlate this text-based log information. You may find it more visually acceptable to import the log file into a spreadsheet. After importing the file, all of the fields can be logically displayed in columns for easier analysis.

The following screen shot shows an imported log file in the free OpenOffice.org Calc spreadsheet application. For Calc to properly import the log file, the log filename extension must be renamed to CSV and the import process must specify spaces as the delimiter.
