Advanced / Network Connection Settings / Settings / ICMP
The ICMP tab in the Network Connection Settings provides the configuration of Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) traffic settings on a per-network adapter basis. Although ICMP can be a useful network troubleshooting tool, ICMP can sometimes provide too much information about a local network configuration. Windows Firewall recognizes this security concern, and defaults the ICMP exception list to a disabled state.
The ICMP settings for each network card should be carefully considered before enabling these functions. Unless there's a good reason, these settings should always remain disabled.
