Advanced / Network Connection Settings / Settings
In Windows Firewall, individual services can be enabled or disabled by specific network card. For example, web server access may be allowed through a wired Ethernet adapter, but not through a wireless network connection.
The Advanced Settings option allows the enabling or disabling of an existing network service. To view the Advanced Settings, select the Settings. button in the Network Connection Settings section of the Windows Firewall Advanced tab.
Additional services can be added to this list, or an existing service can be edited. User-defined services can also be deleted from this service list.
Windows Firewall includes a number of built-in services. These services include FTP Server, Internet Mail Access Protocol Version 3 (IMAP3), Internet Mail Access Protocol Version 4 (IMAP4), Internet Mail Server (SMTP), Post-Office Protocol Version 3 (POP3), Remote Desktop, Secure Web Server (HTTPS), Telnet Server, and Web Server (HTTP). These services are defined in Windows Firewall, but none of them are enabled by default. This list of common services is included to assist with the configuration process if any of these services are added later.
