Exceptions / Edit

Once an exception is created, it can be edited at any time. Selecting a program exception and clicking the "Edit..." button in the Windows Firewall Exceptions tab displays a summary of the application name and path. When editing an application, the only available options are related to the programs' scope.

A port-based exception can also be edited, but all of the port-based options are accessible during the edit process. Windows Firewall will allow the editing of a port-based exception name, port number, and scope.

Exceptions / Delete
Once an exception has been added to Windows Firewall, it can be easily deleted with the Delete button. Windows Firewall will confirm each deletion request.

Some of the Windows Firewall exceptions have been included by Windows and cannot be deleted. These service-based exceptions are File and Printer Sharing, Remote Assistance, Remote Desktop, and the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) Framework.
