Exceptions / Add Program
Instead of having Windows automatically add a program to the exceptions list, an exception can also be added manually. Configuring an exception shouldn't be required very often, but it's a simple task if the situation demands some manual intervention. Just remember, you want to minimize the number of exceptions in Windows Firewall. Don't use this option to manually add every program on your computer!
To add a program to the exceptions list, click the "Add Program..." button at the bottom of the Windows Firewall Exception tab. The resulting dialog box shows a list of the applications installed on your computer.
To add a program, highlight the name and click the OK button. As with the automatic identification process, the application name will be added to the list under the Exceptions tab.
